This study aimed to investigate the relationship between family support and anxiety levels in preoperative patients at Marinir Cilandak Hospital in 2024. Using a cross- sectional design, the study involved 55 respondents with a distribution of 63.6% male and 36.4% female, and a diverse age range with the majority under 25 years old (40%). Data analysis using Chi-Square test revealed a significant relationship between family support and anxiety levels (χ² = 6.374, p = 0.041). Despite limitations in cell expected counts, these results are consistent with recent literature emphasizing the important role of family support in reducing preoperative anxiety. These findings have significant implications for clinical practice, suggesting the integration of family support into preoperative care protocols. Further research with larger sample sizes and exploration of the most effective types of family support is recommended for developing more targeted interventions. In conclusion, this study provides preliminary evidence supporting the importance of family roles in managing preoperative patient anxiety at Marinir Cilandak Hospital.
